Happy Thriveday!
A quick update and a little something for you
Hello my Thriveseekers, how are you doing on this last Friday of February?
Today you should be receiving Five to Thrive edition 12, but I’ve decided to be a bit of a rebel and go off piste!
Instead edition 12 will be coming out next Friday 6th March, mainly because I want to tie it in with International Women’s Day.
I want to give you my own hot take on IWD, and gather together some insightful resources for you that deliver much more than a pink bow and a token high five!
My gift to you today
However, I don’t want to leave without giving you something today!
So I want to share with you a piece I wrote two years ago called The Journey.
It charts my journey from the UK to Portugal taken two years ago almost to the day. We had decided to go and explore living in Portugal, and headed there for a couple of months.
This epic 2000km journey by ferry and road in a 15 year old Nissan proved to be more than simply reaching a geographical location, it became analogous with my own grief at this time, having lost my Mum and Dad the year before.
I’ve spoken to a couple of midlife women who’ve lost one of their parents recently, so I felt like it was the right time to reshare this piece as it may help you or someone going through grief or loss (or anticipatory grief especially if you’re caring for a parent who has something like Alzheimers).
At the end there’s resources and book recommendations that I turned to at this difficult time.
I hope that you get something from it and feel free to share with others who might need it right now.
Sending you love and hugs, and will be back next Friday with Five to Thrive when normal service is resumed.
Take good care of yourself, and don’t forget you are precious too, and deserve to thrive.
Emma x
